The Shaftening

BEFORE

Years ago life was always about:
“This is who I am.”
“I try and I always fail.”
“Why try when we all die?”
I wore those words like chains.
I patched the broken links.
Tightened the noose.
Maintained the prison.
Called it destiny.

TONIGHT

But tonight it is about:
“Why am I still carrying this?”
“Why do I keep asking the same questions?”
The ex.
The depression.
The old hurts.
The generational baggage.
The self-destructive habits.
I am done celebrating them.
Done polishing them.
Done confusing them for wisdom.
These are no longer things to worship.
They are things to evaluate.
Things to challenge.
Things to put down.
Because life is no longer about:
“This is who I am.”
It is becoming:
“This is who I choose to be.”

I had some veggies that were turning bad, so I decided to use them all into a big pot of veggie AWESOMENESS… with chicken of course. Serrano, Jalapeno, onions, green onions, cilantro, bell pepper, squash, cabbage, peas and carrots… and a ton of CHINGAZOS. I even braved to not turn on the AC even when it was in the high eighties inside the house… and then went HAM, tears and sweat. So I guess “We” gonna do this now. I also walked 14k steps, something I hadn’t done in a long time. I don’t know what it was, like a jolt of PURE FUCKEN MADNESS telling me JUST do and do it HARD. 4.5 hours of sleep and I am feeling the hurt…
