A Light Flicker

The day I die all the lights will go out
Every dream you had will flicker away
Every kiss, every dream
Will be lost that same day

Because when I am gone
I will take it all
All the light, even the shadows
Even the darkness when I’m done

Picture me one last time
The gatekeeper of this world
The one holding the line
Till life too grows old

But on the other spectrum I will shine
In between time and space
My lovers again I will embrace
And once again be the ruler of the sentient race

You might think that I’ll die in your world to rule in mine
But the truth is far from the concept
You were always living my life
And as such, you’ll fade with time

So when I die let this world forget itself
Let the lights flicker one last time
So that maybe in my other life
You can still come alive

Sometimes, you don’t just leave the world — you take it with you. This poem came from a place beyond vengeance, beyond pain — a whisper in the void that lingers after everything else fades. A Light Flicker is a eulogy, a prophecy, a farewell soaked in both truth and possibility.
